hello! you are currently exploring my portfolio!my name is fatima hussain. i am a designer, creative director and art director.welcome to this archive project i call 'huann' or 'huann.i7' (pronounced huann-is).huann is a project i've developed to showcase my work as a creative; an archive of sorts.

i am currently studying BA (Hons) Design for Art Direction at University of the Arts London where i am developing my practice in many fields.i specialise in pre-production planning and managing, visual research and design conceptualising. i also have 5+ years experience with graphic design.

Pear&Blossom (2025)

my final major project for my bachelor's degree; bringing the story of 'pear&blossom' into reality. the story follows the characters pear and blossom as they go through a breakup... with each other!link to the project here

a little girl's guide romance (2025)

the physical outcome for my dissertation 'The Patriarchal Fate of the Romantic Heroine: How does fictional romance reflects flaws within society? Using Bridgerton as a case study'. this piece adopts a childlike and crafty design as to reimagine what a young girl’s scrapbook of romance might look like if she were aware of the patriarchal norms and toxic tropes embedded within the genre.

Portable Flower Presses (2024)

combinining retro tech with nature, portable flower presses are exactly as the name states. carry these around with ease to press flowers to keep forever.

neo aquaflora (2024)

a concept for a new - neo - aesthetic. developed as part of a university project.link to the project here

created for the UAL language arts project (2024), from another world explores the visa application process and the desire to be understood properly.more information on the piece can be found here

The Comfort Menu: A Reader (2024)

created in collaboration with design for art direction students, i led the design team for the comfort menu: a reader which spans the students' interaction with selected texts.the online version can be found here

Editorial Design

i've got a huge passion for print hence why editorial and publication design is part of my skillset.

i developed my research and outcomes of my 'neo aquaflora' project into a perfect bound publication with fitting layouts for the 'neo' aesthetic.

with two years of experience with laser cutting, i can both operate and set up files for the laser cutter. i've used laser cutting in various ways across my projects.

for my final major project 'pear&blossom', i employed laser cutting to create the figures, using it both on acrylic and paper to achieve the final look. i also laser cut the packaging.

i've loved collaging since i was young and have since continued to expand it further and further

i am knowledgable in operating and using risograph for printing - perhaps your next project could use the bright colours risograph has to offer!

from 2019 to now, i've been well-versed in how to create and develop a branding and identity for whatever one desires - a company, a book, a portfolio etc.

as a fan of nostalgia, i find myself experimenting with pixel art from time to time as to help aid the revival of this art style in the modern day.

Elegy No. 7 was a game concept I envisioned through pixel art, inspired by Katana Zero in terms of visual style

'Trick or Treaters' was a personal project based around creating sprites for various halloween-themed outfits.
